Fighting Style

Here at SAGMCS, we are devoted to the study of medieval combat in all its forms, but as a default and logical starting point we use the two-handed sword such as the German long-sword. We have found that by using just the sword in both attack and defence, bolsters the study of any of the other styles and weapons you my opt to pursue.

The Medieval German style form the platform and foundation of the study of other weapons such as the sword-and-shield, sword-and-buckler, cloak-and-dagger, pole-axe, mace etc. The style also renders itself ideally to the use of everyday household objects in the art of defence and attack (you do not need a sword to defend yourself).

As a future development, we plan to expand our arsenal to include weapons such as the longbow, crossbow, javelin and spear.
